ABRAFAC - Guided Tour of the Museum of Football - 100 participants
Event Description:
The museum is an insight into Brazil's recent history, no other country has embraced this sport in quite the same way. Some would say that not only has football become part of Brazilian culture, but Brazil has become part of football culture. Brazilian players, their flair, and amazing ball skills are known the world over.
The museum is also an example of Brazilian creativity. Located in 6900m2 of unused space below the reinforced concrete stands of Pacaembu Stadium, this is an excellent example of retro fit techniques. Opened in 1940 the stadium was once the largest and most modern in Latin America, and it continues to be one of Sao Paulo's architectural landmarks playing host to pop stars and their extravagant events as well as football players.
The ABRAFAC event will consist of an extended guided tour covering the details and technical aspects of the installation, and the innovative solutions implemented. This will be followed later in the evening by a Happy Hour and networking opportunity for the estimated 60 professionals expected at the event.
Quote from ABRAFAC's Chair, Marcos Maran:
"Once again World FM Day has grown in stature, and is symbolic of the rising recognition that our profession is gaining, and deserves. Congratulations to all FM professionals on this important day, especially those who give their time voluntarily to one of the many associations affiliated with Global FM".

Event Description:
This year, the World FM Day took place in the headquarters of Philips in Suresnes, near Paris. After a welcome cocktail, our 60 guests were invited to attend to a conference, followed by a fine cocktail party on the terrace of Philips with a gorgeous point of view of Paris. The conference started by a presentation of the World FM Day. Then Nicolas Cugier (Thalès), Yannick Annezo (VINCI Facilities), Jean-Jacques Bucher (Sodexo – Altys), Denis Szkobel (Exprimm / Sypemi) and François Delatouche (President of ARSEG) met for a discussion, animated by Joël Marias our host and member of the board of ARSEG, around the theme "The place of Facilities Management in the value chain of companies". After the debate, Delphine Sergent, member of the board of ARSEG and of the 2011 Global FM Awards Jury, unveiled the winners of the Global FM Awards of excellence in Facilities Management, in presence of Daniel Asathal, from Roche Diagnostics, whose project was shortlisted.
Quote from ARSEG's Director General, Lionel Cottin:
"It was a great pleasure for me to take part to the third edition of the World FM Day. The age we are going through, the world we are living in, remind us every day how much it’s important to keep connected to enrich each other at a national but also at an international level : many stakes clearly lie at a world level today. The event, organized in France, was very full and appreciated. It emphasized the awareness of our Facilities Managers about the importance of this international dimension. I’m glad of such an evolution that I regard as a good sign for the future. By learning from one another, by rewarding the best of the best worldwide, my firm conviction is that the working environment will more and more contribute to corporate performance! Long live World FM Day!"
