Global FM (Global Facility Management Association) is a worldwide federation of member-centered organizations committed to providing leadership in the facility management profession. As a single, united entity promoting facility management, Global FM is a conduit for furthering the knowledge and understanding of facility management, sharing of best practices and resulting in added value to the individual members of each member organization:

Why is FM Important for the Business World?
Facilities management is a critical, strategic business discipline. Organisations increasingly occupy complex buildings and use sophisticated technology for communications and control
Professional FM is needed to plan, maintain and manage these facilities. It is part of the drive to meet the higher demands of organisations and individuals. Whether as employees, customers, students or patients, people have higher expectations of their living, working and leisure environments.
Good facilities management can deliver flexibility, adaptability and sustainability. It can help organisations respond to cost pressures or the need for greater security. Beyond buildings, it can enable remote and peripatetic working.
At its best it is a real differentiator and in the commercial sphere can provide a competitive advantage.
Why does FM have an impact on Sustainability?
Facility management professionals and the membership organizations supporting them nationally and internationally are good stewards of the earth’s limited resources. They engage best practices in sustainability whenever possible to ensure operations are energy efficient, environmentally sound and promote the wellbeing of occupants. They also help preserve natural resources, work to limit organizational footprints and prefer doing business with other similarly responsible organizations.

Global FM Publishes its 2011 Annual Review
BRUSSELS, Belgium — (20 December 2011) — Global FM, the worldwide federation of facility management organisations, has released the 2011 Annual Review. The 2011 Annual Review sets out the vision and mission of Global FM, provides an overview of activities and summarises the financial position of the organisation.
Teena G. Shouse, CFM, IFMA Fellow, the Chairperson of Global FM stated:
“I am glad that I waited until the entire report was complete to write this quote (much to the dismay of the publisher). It offered me an opportunity to reflect on the progress of Global FM and take pride in the accomplishments of the efforts of the members, sponsors and management team.
